Monday 8 August – Runs of the Day

As usual, Monday was a relatively quiet day of racing with the four low-key cards to entertain us. Ayr and Wolverhampton (AW) kicked things off through the afternoon, before Windsor held it’s penultimate Monday evening fixture in tandem with Ffos Las. We head to the AW surface for our sole ‘Run of the Day’.

Wolverhampton (AW):

3 15 STORM OVER (R Cowell) 9/4, C6 2YO Maiden, 5F, Standard

Robert CowellAfter a positive start, Storm Over shaped very nicely throughout and looked very professional before getting stuck on the rail behind the two front runners. Coming into the straight from the final bend he didn’t look best place. But when brought out, Robert Cowell’s 2YO produced a tidy turn of foot and put the race to bed gamely. The ride from Luke Morris was well thought out and took some patience to deliver the win. Storm Over galloped past and looked much more fluent than any of his rivals. It might not have been the best race, but we are definitely only scratching the surface with this one for sure.
